Quick Tips for Minimizing Interruptions
- Don't check your email until about 2 hours after you've started your day and turn off your email inbox notification
- Make yourself unavailable during the times that you really need to get something done
- Let the phone ring. Designate times when you do not answer the phone. Set time to return calls later
- Close your office door to discourage people from stopping in. When they do, ask if what they want will take less than 5 minutes. If so, take the time to talk to them-and keep it to 5 minutes. If not, set a time to meet with them later
